ST. PETERSBURG, June 20 (Xinhua) -- President of Xinhua News Agency Fu Hua on Friday met here with Pavel Negoitsa, general director of Russia's Rossiyskaya Gazeta, during a visit to Russia.

Fu said Xinhua cherishes friendly relations with Rossiyskaya Gazeta and attaches great importance to bilateral exchanges and cooperation. He expressed the hope to further intensify various activities such as mutual visits of personnel, joint interviews and joint photo exhibitions, expand cooperation in content promotion and other fields, and contribute to the high-level development of China-Russia ties.

Speaking highly of the long-standing friendly cooperation between the two sides, Negoitsa noted that Xinhua has rich experience in using new technologies like artificial intelligence and big data to empower news gathering and editing.

Negoitsa expressed willingness to further deepen technical exchanges, increase personnel interactions, diversify cooperation models, and jointly promote the mutual understanding and lasting friendship between the peoples of Russia and China. ■
