ISLAMABAD, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- At least three policemen were killed and three others injured as twin blasts hit a police check post in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, officials said.
The first explosion took place near the police check post in Hangu district, and as a group of policemen were heading to the scene, a second blast occurred, killing three, including a senior officer, district police officer Khan Zeb Mohmand told local media.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, and the condition of one policeman was said to be critical.
Following the attack, additional police contingents were deployed across the area to ensure security and prevent further violence.
No group or individual claimed responsibility for the attack. ■
