China's biggest all-electric bulk carrier launched in central China's Hubei

YICHANG, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- China's biggest all-electric bulk carrier, named Gezhouba, was launched on Thursday in Yichang, central China's Hubei Province, marking a major milestone in the country's green and intelligent shipping industry.
The vessel, measuring 130 meters in length with a maximum load capacity of over 13,000 tonnes, is powered by 12 lithium battery units, providing a total energy capacity of 24,000 kWh.
According to its developer, the ship supports fast battery swapping and offers a range of 500 kilometers per charge.
