ROME, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Official Iconic Posters for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 were unveiled Wednesday at Triennale Milano, highlighting the fusion of art, culture and sport ahead of Italy's upcoming Winter Games.
Created by Italian artists Olimpia Zagnoli and Carolina Altavilla, the two posters were unveiled at Triennale Milano. According to the organizing committee, the designs reference Milan's urban setting and Cortina d'Ampezzo's alpine landscape, and are intended to link competition with community.
The unveiling ceremony, organized by the Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee in collaboration with Triennale Milano, was held with the participation of the International Olympic Committee and International Paralympic Committee. The initiative forms part of the Cultural Olympiad, which aims to connect sport and art.
Zagnoli's design for the Olympic Winter Games uses bold colors and geometric forms to convey energy, optimism and diversity. Her work symbolizes harmony between city and nature, and between tradition and innovation.
Altavilla's Paralympic poster emphasizes determination and inclusion, focusing on shared participation under the message "We participate as a community."
"Through art, we tell the identity of the Games and their deep connection with the territory, culture and people," said Andrea Varnier, CEO of Milano Cortina 2026. "These works express the harmony between sport and society, between Milan and Cortina. They represent the inclusive and contemporary spirit of our Games, leaving a lasting mark on collective memory."
The Iconic Posters continue an Olympic tradition of turning each edition's message into a visual legacy. They reinforce the role of art in shaping the cultural dimension of the Games.
The posters will be distributed by OneArt and made available for purchase at Triennale Milano's bookshop and the official Olympic Shop.
As the Milano Cortina 2026 Games approach, the new posters stand as symbols linking Italy's artistic heritage with the values of the Olympic and Paralympic movements - unity, excellence and friendship. ■
