CARACAS, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed on Wednesday after their small plane crashed at Paramillo Airport in the western Venezuelan state of Tachira, according to the National Institute of Civil Aviation (INAC).

"The corresponding protocols were immediately activated and the airport's aviation firefighters took action to respond to the accident," the INAC posted on Instagram.

Investigation is underway to determine the causes of the accident, the agency added. ■
